Inspired by Waldorf Education, CES Waldorf is implementing a unique educational and social project that promotes the integral development and resilience of children, adolescents and their families. After the signing of the peace treaty between the FARC guerrillas and the Colombian government, Colombians society faces the immense challenge of managing the post-conflict that inevitably awaits the next generations. Initiatives like CES Waldorf are of inestimable importance here, as they work at the grassroots level of society, with the families affected.

Located in the Sierra Morena district within the borough of Ciudad Bolívar in the southern outskirts of Bogotá, CES Waldorf attends to the needs of children, young adults and their families in one of the most depressed and insecure neighborhoods of Colombia.

Their mission is to recover the dignity and self-esteem of a population that lives in a complex situation of extreme poverty and social exclusion, by improving its socio-economic and interpersonal living conditions.

With its funds, Primavera helps to promote the holistic education of the children and young people in our care and to deal with the consequences of violence and poverty, so they can find alternatives which will enable them and their families to build a dignified future.

The Don Bosco Training Centre, located in Cali Colombia, is a non-profit educational and social institution run by the Salesian Community. Since 1992, a team of priests, religious and lay people have work together as a team to re-establish the rights of children, adolescents and young people at high social and economic risk in the District of Aguablanca, in addition to promoting their physical development, psychosocial, intellectual and spiritual through an appropriate educational environment, with family and community participation.

Through technical training in 13 technical areas, children, adolescents and young people who are cali residents and have experimented different ways of poverty, armed conflict displacement, physical and work abuse, finally find a safe place where they can improve their living conditions in order to re-establish their rights and have a decent life away from crime and drugs.

FISDECO Primaver Bogotá Colomia

FISDECO

Project location: Bogotá
Number of children supported: 400
Type of support: Education and Alimentation
Period of support: Since 2026

FISDECO develops a comprehensive educational and social project in Ciudad Bolívar, one of Bogotá’s districts most affected by poverty, forced displacement, and limited access to essential services. With over 50 years of continuous work in the area, the foundation continues to support children and families through programs designed to strengthen well‑being, learning opportunities, and community development.

To address the significant learning gaps and the challenging living conditions in the area, the project offers a full day educational program for the 400 children aged 6 to 11 who participate. In the morning, students attend their regular primary school classes as part of the formal curriculum, and in the afternoon, they receive personalized academic reinforcement, a balanced daily meal, and access to creative and technological learning opportunities, including music, robotics, and English language development.

Nutrition is a key pillar of the initiative; the school ensures that every child receives a healthy daily lunch, an essential measure in a community where food insecurity is common and directly affects academic progress.

The project is supported by a multidisciplinary team that includes certified teachers and specialized staff, ensuring an organized and stable operational structure capable of providing continuous, high‑quality educational services.

Support from Primavera strengthens the foundation’s capacity to sustain its programs, expand access to holistic education, and provide children with meaningful alternatives to the cycles of violence and poverty that affect the community.
